Cocktail 2 Box Office Day 8: Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon’s Romance Stays Strong, Inches Closer to Beating Their Last Hit
Despite mixed reviews, Cocktail 2 has crossed ₹74 crore in India and is now eyeing a major milestone at the box office.
Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna’s romantic drama Cocktail 2 may have divided critics, but at the box office, the film is proving its staying power.
Entering its second week, the film has maintained a steady pace and continues to attract audiences, pushing it closer to another major box office milestone.
According to early trade estimates, Cocktail 2 collected around 4.25 crore on its Day 8 (second Friday). What makes this more significant is its consistency — the film earned nearly the same as Thursday’s ₹4.15 crore, signaling stable occupancy even after the first-week buzz.
By the end of its opening week, the romantic entertainer had already amassed 70.50 crore net in India.
Its journey started with a strong 13.50 crore opening, followed by a sharp jump over the weekend — 16.25 crore on Saturday and 17.75 crore on Sunday, giving the film an impressive first three-day run.
The weekdays remained healthy too, with ₹6.75 crore each on Monday and Tuesday, before slightly dropping to ₹5.25 crore on Wednesday.
With the latest figures, the film’s domestic total now stands at approximately 74.75 crore net, making it one of the stronger-performing romantic dramas of the year.
If the momentum continues over the weekend, Cocktail 2 is expected to overtake the lifetime collection of Shahid and Kriti’s previous hit Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which closed at 85.16 crore.

Directed by Homi Adajania and written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 cult hit Cocktail.
Produced under Maddock Films and Luv Films, the sequel carries forward the emotional chaos of modern relationships but with a fresh cast and a new setting.

This time, the story revolves around Kunal and Diya, college sweethearts who don’t believe in marriage. Their relationship takes a dramatic turn during a trip to Sicily, where they meet Diya’s friend Ally.
Things spiral when Diya asks Ally to flirt with Kunal as a loyalty test — a decision that soon turns into a messy emotional triangle.
While audiences have appreciated the chemistry and scenic storytelling, critics have been divided over its lengthy runtime and familiar plot.
Still, the film’s strong box office performance suggests that viewers are connecting with its emotional drama and glamorous setting.
With the weekend ahead, all eyes are now on whether Cocktail 2 can cross the 80 crore mark and cement itself as another commercial winner for Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
