The star batter took to social media to clarify that the statement circulating online was completely fake and had not been made or approved by him. He also requested fans to avoid believing or sharing unverified information.

The clarification comes at a time when Team India is currently facing England in a five-match T20I series, with the team led by new captain Shreyas Iyer.

“I’m very happy for the team and wish them nothing but the very best, always,” Suryakumar said while sharing his message with fans.

The Mumbai-born batter, popularly known as SKY, added that he knows the players are giving their best on the field and will always have his support.

“My support for Indian cricket, my teammates, and the game will always speak louder than words falsely attributed to me,” he stated.

Apart from addressing the fake statement, Suryakumar Yadav also highlighted the impressive debut of young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who received his first senior India T20I opportunity against England.

The experienced batter encouraged the youngster to enjoy the journey and continue making the country proud.

“A special word for Vaibhav — you’re at the start of what promises to be a very exciting journey,” SKY said while congratulating the young cricketer.

Fake Quote Creates Unnecessary Speculation

The controversy began after a statement started circulating online claiming that Suryakumar Yadav felt disrespected after losing his position as India’s T20I captain without being consulted.
