“Even I don’t have a guarantee of my next Friday…”: Pulkit Samrat reveals Salman Khan’s blunt advice before debut
Actor Pulkit Samrat has opened up about the unforgettable advice he received from superstar Salman Khan before stepping into Bollywood, calling it a moment that changed his outlook forever.
Bollywood actor Pulkit Samrat has revisited one of the most defining moments of his career, recalling the brutally honest advice Salman Khan gave him just before his debut film hit theatres.
Pulkit, who made his Bollywood debut with Bittoo Boss in 2012, admitted that he was overwhelmed with anxiety before the release. Like most newcomers, he was worried about how audiences would react to his performance and whether the film would succeed at the box office.
But it was Salman Khan’s straight-to-the-point words that changed everything.
Salman’s ‘next Friday’ reality check
Speaking in a recent interview, Pulkit shared how Salman gave him a reality check that instantly eased his stress.
“I was incredibly anxious, wondering how the film and my performance would be received,” Pulkit recalled.
That’s when Salman looked at him and said:
“Pulkit, I am Salman Khan. Even I don’t have the guarantee of my next Friday. So, who do you think you are?”
The statement, while blunt, carried a powerful lesson.
Pulkit said it made him realise that if a superstar of Salman’s stature couldn’t predict box office results, there was little point in losing sleep over things beyond his control.
‘He eats, sleeps and breathes films’
Pulkit didn’t just talk about Salman’s advice—he also praised the actor’s relentless dedication to cinema.
According to him, Salman’s passion for films goes far beyond acting.
“He eats, sleeps and breathes films 24/7,” Pulkit said.
He revealed that even on days when Salman barely gets a few hours of sleep, he continues brainstorming scripts, casting ideas, and large-scale action scenes.
Watching that level of commitment, Pulkit said, made him understand how hard he needed to work to build his own journey in the industry.

Pulkit’s personal journey
For many fans, Pulkit’s connection with Salman has always drawn attention.
The actor was earlier married to Shweta Rohira, who is known as Salman Khan’s rakhi sister. However, the marriage ended within a year.
Pulkit later found love with actress Kriti Kharbanda, and the couple got married in 2024 after being in a relationship for nearly five years.
What’s next for Pulkit and Salman?

On the work front, Pulkit was recently seen in the Netflix sports-action drama Glory, which received positive feedback from viewers.
He will next appear in Suswagatam Khushaamadeed, opposite Isabelle Kaif.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is preparing for his upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia.
He also has another major project lined up with producer Dil Raju and director Vamshi Paidipally, co-starring Nayanthara, slated for an Eid 2027 release.
Pulkit’s story is a reminder that in Bollywood, uncertainty is constant—but sometimes, the best advice comes from those who’ve lived through it all.
