Mrunal Thakur issues a public legal warning against AI-generated deepfakes, stating that any misuse of her identity will lead to legal action.

Mumbai: Actress Mrunal Thakur has spoken out against the growing misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfake technology, issuing a firm legal warning to those creating or sharing manipulated content using her identity.

Taking to her official social media account on Tuesday, the actress shared a strongly worded statement, making it clear that the unauthorized use of her image or likeness would not be tolerated.

In her post, Mrunal Thakur wrote:“Creating or sharing deepfake content using my likeness is illegal and unacceptable. Consider this your formal notice to stop immediately. Any further misuse of my identity will result in legal action.”

Although the actress did not specify which particular video, image or social media account prompted the statement, she emphasized that the warning applies to any individual or platform involved in producing or circulating AI-generated fake content featuring her.

The statement comes at a time when deepfake technology has become a growing concern across the entertainment industry. With AI tools becoming more accessible, several public figures have raised alarms over manipulated videos and images that can mislead audiences and violate an individual’s privacy and reputation.

By issuing a public legal notice, Mrunal Thakur has joined a growing list of celebrities taking a firm stand against the unauthorized use of their digital identity.

The actress was recently in the spotlight after videos of her energetic dance performance at a friend’s wedding went viral across social media, winning praise from fans.

On the professional front, Mrunal Thakur began her acting journey on television with the popular series Kumkum Bhagya, where she portrayed Bulbul, before successfully transitioning to films.

Over the years, she has built an impressive filmography with critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects, including Love Sonia, Super 30, Batla House, Sita Ramam, Hi Nanna, The Family Star, and Son of Sardaar 2. She also made a special appearance in Kalki 2898 AD.

Most recently, she appeared in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde. The film also marked the final directorial venture of veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, who had previously announced it would be his last film behind the camera.

Meanwhile, speculation continues over reports linking Mrunal Thakur to a significant role in Allu Arjun’s upcoming science-fiction film Raaka, directed by Atlee. However, neither the actress nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed the casting.
