Maruti Suzuki Creates History with Record July Sales: Over 2.41 Lakh Units Sold as SUVs and Hatchbacks Drive Growth
Maruti Suzuki records its highest-ever domestic monthly sales in July 2026, with strong demand for popular models like the Baleno, Swift, Brezza and Fronx helping overall dispatches cross 2.41 lakh units.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has scripted a new milestone by posting its highest-ever domestic monthly sales, reflecting sustained demand across India’s passenger vehicle market.
The country’s largest automobile manufacturer reported total sales of 2,41,421 units in July 2026, driven by exceptional domestic performance that more than compensated for a slight decline in exports.
Record Domestic Sales Power Growth
Maruti Suzuki sold 2,00,123 vehicles in the domestic market, setting a new company record for monthly sales. Including supplies to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), total domestic dispatches climbed to 2,11,365 units, marking a significant improvement over the same period last year.
Passenger vehicle sales alone reached 1,96,203 units, highlighting strong consumer demand across hatchback, sedan and SUV segments.

The company’s consistent performance comes amid growing competition in India’s automobile market, where customer preference continues to shift towards feature-rich and fuel-efficient vehicles.
Baleno, Swift and WagonR Continue to Lead
Maruti Suzuki’s Compact and Mid-Size portfolio remained its biggest strength during July.
Popular models including the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, and Ciaz collectively recorded 90,822 units in sales, registering a sharp year-on-year increase.
The Mini segment, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, also witnessed healthy growth, indicating continued demand for affordable entry-level cars.
SUV Line-Up Continues Winning Buyers
Maruti Suzuki’s expanding utility vehicle portfolio delivered another impressive performance during the month.

SUVs and MPVs such as the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, XL6, Jimny, Invicto, e Vitara, and Victoris together recorded 78,851 units in sales, underlining the rising popularity of utility vehicles among Indian buyers.
The strong SUV demand has become one of the key drivers behind Maruti Suzuki’s recent sales momentum.
Commercial Vehicles Also Register Growth
The company’s commercial vehicle business also contributed positively.
The Eeco van recorded 13,896 units, while the Super Carry light commercial vehicle posted sales of 3,920 units, both showing year-on-year growth.
Exports Dip, Overall Sales Remain Strong
While domestic demand remained robust, exports witnessed a slight decline during July.
Maruti Suzuki exported 30,056 vehicles, marginally lower than the figures recorded during the same month last year. However, the decline had little impact on the company’s overall performance, as total monthly dispatches still crossed 2.41 lakh units.
Strong Start to FY2026-27
The automaker has also enjoyed an encouraging beginning to the current financial year.
Between April and July 2026, Maruti Suzuki’s total sales touched 9,24,145 units, reflecting sustained growth across domestic and international markets. Domestic passenger vehicle sales crossed 7.21 lakh units, while exports also improved compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
With customer demand remaining resilient and SUVs continuing to gain popularity, Maruti Suzuki appears well-positioned to maintain its leadership in India’s highly competitive passenger vehicle market.
