Lamborghini to Launch Single Hybrid Urus, Replacing All Existing Variants
Lamborghini's upcoming hybrid Urus is expected to replace the S, Performante and SE variants with one more powerful flagship SUV.

Sant’Agata Bolognese: Lamborghini is preparing one of the biggest updates in the history of its best-selling Urus SUV. The luxury performance brand is expected to retire all existing versions of the Urus including the Urus S, Urus Performante, and Urus SE in favour of a single plug-in hybrid variant.

The move marks a significant shift in Lamborghini’s strategy, simplifying the model range while introducing what could become the most powerful Urus ever built.

According to reports, the upcoming model will produce more power than the Urus SE, which already generates an impressive 789 bhp from its plug-in hybrid powertrain. While Lamborghini has not officially disclosed performance figures, expectations are high that the new SUV will set a fresh benchmark for the brand’s performance SUV lineup.

The streamlined approach is aimed at reducing complexity while offering customers one fully loaded flagship model that combines luxury, practicality and supercar-like performance.

Performance Meets Electrification

The new plug-in hybrid Urus is expected to continue Lamborghini’s electrification journey without compromising the brand’s performance credentials. By replacing three distinct variants with a single model, the company appears to be focusing on delivering the best of every version in one package.

If reports prove accurate, the updated Urus will offer enhanced acceleration, improved efficiency and even greater driving dynamics compared to its predecessor.

Familiar Yet Sharper Design

Preview images released by Lamborghini suggest the new SUV will retain several styling cues from the outgoing models while receiving subtle visual upgrades.

The front fascia is expected to feature larger air intakes, revised LED daytime running lights inspired by the Urus SE, and updated headlamp and tail-lamp units. The rear design is likely to borrow the sporty spoiler from the Urus Performante, giving the SUV a more aggressive stance.

These changes are expected to modernise the SUV while preserving the bold identity that has made the Urus one of the world’s most recognisable luxury performance vehicles.

A New Chapter for the Urus

Since its global debut, the Lamborghini Urus has become the brand’s highest-selling model, helping expand the company’s customer base worldwide. The transition to a single hybrid flagship reflects Lamborghini’s broader strategy of embracing electrification while maintaining its signature high-performance DNA.

More details, including official specifications, pricing and launch timelines, are expected to be announced when Lamborghini formally unveils the new Urus in the coming months.
