“I’m not taking pressure…”: Kunal Kemmu reacts to Salman Khan Rohit Shetty comparisons as ‘Alliance’ begins streaming
With Alliance now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, actor Kunal Kemmu has opened up about stepping into the world of reality show hosting and facing comparisons with television’s biggest names.
Actor Kunal Kemmu has entered a brand-new phase in his career as the host of Prime Video’s latest reality show Alliance, and with it has come inevitable comparisons to some of Indian television’s most popular faces.
From Salman Khan to Rohit Shetty, reality show audiences have become used to larger-than-life hosts dominating their screens. But for Kunal, the focus right now is not on competing—it’s on learning.
As Alliance officially started streaming on June 26, the actor addressed the growing comparisons and made it clear that he isn’t letting the pressure get to him.
“I just want to get better every day”
Speaking during a conversation with ABP News, Kunal was asked how he sees himself among experienced reality show hosts like Salman Khan, Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan, and Riteish Deshmukh.
Responding honestly, Kunal said he is approaching this new responsibility with a learner’s mindset.
“I’m not taking too much pressure. Along with Prime Video, I’m learning as well,” he said.
He further added that his goal is simple—to improve with every episode and stay mindful of how he handles contestants and situations inside the show.
Kunal admitted that hosting a reality show comes with its own challenges, especially when emotions and tensions can run high.
“I don’t want to say something that causes unnecessary disputes. I have to be careful,” he explained.

Alliance enters the crowded reality show battle
With Alliance, Prime Video is entering a competitive reality entertainment space already dominated by shows like Bigg Boss, Khatron Ke Khiladi, and Lock Upp.
The strategy-driven format revolves around trust, betrayal, and shifting loyalties, with contestants entering the game alongside people they already share strong personal bonds with.

The makers are hoping the unique concept will help Alliance carve out its own space in India’s crowded OTT reality segment.
For Kunal, the hosting debut could be a major turning point.
Big screen plans continue too
While Kunal explores reality TV, he hasn’t stepped away from films.
The actor is also preparing to return to the big screen as Laxman in the much-awaited Golmaal 5, the latest installment in the hugely successful comedy franchise.
With both OTT and film projects lined up, Kunal seems to be balancing two very different worlds at once.
And if Alliance finds its audience, this could be just the beginning of his journey as a host.
