Ikka First Look Out: Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna Face Off in Netflix Courtroom Thriller
Netflix unveils the first look of Ikka, a gripping legal drama starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, set to premiere on July 10.
Netflix has officially unveiled the first look of its upcoming courtroom thriller Ikka, bringing together powerhouse actors Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna for an intense legal face-off that is already generating major buzz among fans.
Set to premiere on July 10, the film marks a significant milestone in Sunny Deol’s career as it becomes his first-ever Netflix original film. It also sees the actor returning to the courtroom genre decades after his iconic performance as a lawyer in Damini.
Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra and backed by Alchemy Films, Ikka promises a gripping blend of legal drama, emotional conflict, and moral dilemmas.
Sunny Deol vs Akshaye Khanna
At the centre of Ikka lies a high-stakes courtroom battle between two men tied together by a troubled past.
Sunny Deol plays a celebrated lawyer who is unexpectedly forced to defend a man connected to his past, portrayed by Akshaye Khanna.
What begins as a legal case soon turns deeply personal, reopening old wounds and forcing the lawyer to question his principles, loyalties, and understanding of justice.
As the case intensifies, the film explores themes of:
- Justice and accountability
- Morality versus loyalty
- Family and personal sacrifice
- Emotional consequences of legal decisions
The film reportedly combines emotional storytelling with suspense-driven courtroom confrontations.
Powerful Supporting Cast
Apart from Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, the film features a strong supporting ensemble including:
- Tillotama Shome
- Dia Mirza
- Sanjeeda Shaikh
- Shishir Sharma
- Akansha Ranjan Kapoor
Tillotama Shome plays a determined public prosecutor fighting relentlessly for justice, while Dia Mirza portrays a wife and mother struggling to hold her family together amid growing uncertainty.
Sunny and Akshaye Reunite After Border
One of the biggest highlights of Ikka is the reunion of Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna nearly three decades after their memorable collaboration in the 1997 war classic Border.
Fans of both actors are already excited to see the duo share screen space once again, this time in a courtroom drama instead of a battlefield.
Netflix Calls Ikka a ‘Landmark Film’
Speaking about the project, Monika Shergill, Vice President of Content at Netflix India, described Ikka as a layered courtroom drama filled with emotional complexity and suspense.
“IKKA brings together everything audiences love about a great courtroom drama — high stakes, moral complexity and emotional conflict,” she said.

Director Siddharth P. Malhotra Opens Up
Director Siddharth P. Malhotra revealed that Ikka is a deeply personal project he has wanted to make for years.
“As a storyteller, I’m always looking for stories that challenge me emotionally and creatively, and IKKA has been one such journey,” he said.
The filmmaker added that the story focuses not only on legal battles but also on emotional relationships and moral choices.
Following the success of Maharaj, Ikka marks Malhotra’s second collaboration with Netflix.
With an emotionally charged storyline, experienced performers, and intense courtroom drama, Ikka is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated OTT releases of the year.
