Hero Unveils Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh… 187 km Range, Faster Charging and a Bigger Battery Make It a Strong EV Contender
Hero MotoCorp’s latest electric scooter arrives with a larger removable battery, improved range, quicker charging and smart connectivity features, aiming to attract urban commuters.
New Delhi: India’s electric two-wheeler market has welcomed another new entrant as Hero MotoCorp has expanded its electric mobility portfolio with the launch of the Vida> Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh.
The latest flagship variant is designed for riders seeking longer range without compromising on convenience. While it shares much of its design and hardware with the existing VX2 Plus model, the biggest upgrade comes in the form of a larger battery pack and significantly improved driving range.
The scooter carries an ex-showroom price of ₹1.44 lakh (Delhi). However, eligible buyers can avail of benefits under the PM E-Drive Scheme, bringing the effective purchase price down to approximately ₹1.14 lakh, including applicable incentives and discounts.
Bigger Battery Delivers Longer Range
The highlight of the new Vida VX2 Plus is its 4.4kWh battery system, consisting of two removable 2.2kWh battery packs.
The removable design allows owners to conveniently charge the batteries at home or the workplace instead of relying entirely on public charging stations.
According to the company, the scooter delivers an IDC-certified riding range of 187 kilometres on a single charge. This represents an improvement of 41 kilometres over the earlier 3.4kWh version, making it a more practical option for longer daily commutes and weekend rides.

Faster Charging for Everyday Convenience
Hero has also upgraded the charging setup with a 1kW Zap Charger, replacing the smaller charger offered with the previous model.
Using the supplied AC charger:
- Battery charges from 0% to 80% in approximately 3 hours 17 minutes
- 20% to 80% takes around 2 hours 28 minutes
- Full charge (0–100%) takes just over 5 hours
The scooter also supports DC fast charging, allowing users to charge the battery from 0% to 80% in about 65 minutes, while a complete charge can be achieved in roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes under standard testing conditions.
Performance Built for City Roads
Powering the scooter is a 6kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, producing nearly 9 horsepower.
The Vida VX2 Plus can reach a top speed of 90 km/h, making it suitable for both city commuting and short highway journeys.
The scooter accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, while an 18-degree gradeability enables it to tackle steep roads with relative ease.

Practical Design Meets Smart Technology
Hero has focused on making the scooter practical for everyday users.
The VX2 Plus features a 777mm seat height, making it accessible to a wide range of riders. It also offers 27.2 litres of under-seat storage, complemented by an additional 4.8-litre front storage compartment for smaller essentials.
On the safety front, the scooter comes equipped with a front disc brake, rear drum brake, and Combined Braking System (CBS), while riding on 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
Technology remains another strong point of the new electric scooter.
It features a 4.3-inch TFT digital display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates, ensuring that the scooter remains updated with new features over time.
The rider can also choose between Eco, Ride, and Sport riding modes depending on road conditions and performance preferences.
Strengthening Hero’s EV Presence
With electric mobility gaining momentum across India, Hero MotoCorp is steadily expanding its Vida lineup to compete in the rapidly growing premium electric scooter segment.
The new VX2 Plus 4.4kWh combines improved range, quicker charging and modern connectivity features while retaining the convenience of removable batteries. For buyers looking to switch from petrol-powered scooters to electric mobility, Hero’s latest offering aims to provide a practical balance of performance, technology and everyday usability.
As competition intensifies in India’s EV market, the Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh enters the race with a clear focus on reducing range anxiety while offering features expected by today’s connected riders.
