Emraan Hashmi Regrets Calling Aishwarya Rai ‘Plastic’… Reveals He Once Waited 3 Hours Outside Her Van
Years after his controversial Koffee With Karan remark, Emraan Hashmi has admitted he regrets it and says he wants to personally apologise to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has finally addressed one of the most talked-about controversies of his career — his infamous “plastic” comment about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on ‘Koffee With Karan’.
More than a decade after the remark made headlines, Emraan has now admitted that he regrets saying it and would like to apologise to the actress if it hurt her.
The controversy dates back to 2014, when Emraan appeared on Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show and made the comment during the show’s rapid-fire segment. While it grabbed attention at the time, it also sparked criticism and stayed attached to his public image for years.
Now, in a recent interview, Emraan was directly asked if he regrets the statement — and this time, the actor did not hold back.
He candidly admitted that he does.
What made the revelation even more surprising was Emraan’s confession about his admiration for Aishwarya long before the controversy.
The actor revealed that after watching ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, he became such a huge fan of Aishwarya that he once waited outside her vanity van for nearly three hours, just hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

It was a rare and personal detail that showed how deeply he admired her as an actor.
When asked whether he had ever met Aishwarya or explained himself, Emraan clarified that the two have never had a proper conversation.
He added that if he ever gets the chance to meet her, he would genuinely like to apologise and ask whether the comment had offended her.

According to Emraan, if his words caused hurt, he would want to personally say sorry.
His honesty has struck a chord with fans, many of whom praised him for taking responsibility rather than deflecting blame or hiding behind the context of a television game.
In an industry where celebrities often avoid revisiting controversial moments, Emraan’s willingness to acknowledge his mistake is being seen as a rare moment of accountability.
Over the years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has remained one of Bollywood’s most respected and admired stars, while Emraan Hashmi has carved his own niche with intense performances and unconventional roles.
This unexpected chapter from the past has now resurfaced — but this time, with reflection, regret, and perhaps the possibility of closure.
