Cocktail 2 Creates Pre Release Storm! Shahid Kapoor’s Rom Com Crosses ₹4.5 Crore in Advance Booking

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor’s much-awaited romantic comedy Cocktail 2 is already making noise at the box office even before hitting theatres. The film, which also stars Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, has crossed ₹4.5 crore in advance bookings, signaling strong audience excitement ahead of release.

With chartbuster songs, a star-studded cast, and growing social media buzz, the film has quickly become one of the most talked-about releases of the year.

Advance Bookings Pick Up Pace

After a slow start, Cocktail 2 has seen a sharp jump in ticket sales over the last few days.

According to trade reports, the film has sold over 69,000 tickets in the 2D format so far.

The film has collected around ₹2.41 crore in advance bookings excluding blocked seats. When blocked seats are included, the number rises to an impressive ₹4.58 crore.

With one full day still left before release, trade experts believe the final pre-sales figure could climb even higher.

More than 60,000 tickets have already been booked for the opening day alone.

Among 2026’s Biggest Pre-Sales Openers

The strong booking momentum has pushed Cocktail 2 into the list of top advance booking performers of 2026.

With ₹4.58 crore in pre-sales, the film currently sits at the third spot among the year’s biggest advance openers.

In doing so, it has gone past films like:

• Bhoot Bangla – ₹3.32 crore
• O’ Romeo – ₹3.07 crore
• Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai – ₹2.61 crore

However, the race at the top remains dominated by:

• Dhurandhar 2 – ₹53 crore
• Border 2 – ₹12.5 crore

While Cocktail 2 is still behind the top two, its performance has surprised many in the industry.

Can It Deliver at the Box Office?

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 carries the legacy of the cult 2012 hit Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty.

This new installment promises a fresh romantic triangle with modern twists, emotional drama, and vibrant music.

The screenplay has been written by Tarun Jain and Luv Ranjan, while production is backed by Maddock Films and Luv Films.

The film is set for theatrical release on June 19, 2026.
