Television actress Akansha Puri has made a sensational claim amid the ongoing nationwide student protests, alleging that some actors and social media influencers are being offered money to participate in demonstrations.

Speaking to IANS, the actress said she believes public support for any movement should come from genuine concern rather than publicity or financial incentives.

‘Don’t Turn It Into Marketing’

Expressing her views on the protests, Akansha Puri urged members of the entertainment industry to stand for what is right instead of treating social movements as promotional opportunities.

She claimed that several actors and content creators have allegedly been approached by different groups with offers to attend rallies and become part of protest campaigns.

According to the actress, she has no intention of joining such activities if they are driven by marketing or monetary benefits.

Puri stressed that supporting a cause should never become a means of earning money or gaining visibility on social media.

While distancing herself from what she described as attempts to commercialise the protests, the actress expressed sympathy for the students participating in the movement.
