Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar are not permanently relocating from Mumbai to Himachal Pradesh, the filmmaker’s team has clarified amid growing speculation.

Yami Gautam and filmmaker Aditya Dhar are not packing their bags to permanently leave Mumbai for Himachal Pradesh, contrary to reports that recently sparked considerable chatter online.

Speculation around the Bollywood couple’s possible relocation gathered momentum after reports suggested that they were considering making the hill state their permanent base. However, Aditya Dhar’s team has now stepped in with a clear denial, putting the relocation buzz to rest.

Aditya Dhar’s team reacts to relocation reports

As reports of the alleged move began circulating, SCREEN contacted Aditya Dhar’s representatives to check whether the couple was indeed planning to shift permanently to Himachal Pradesh.

The response was brief and unmistakable.

“No. Who is sending this story?” the filmmaker’s team told the publication.

The clarification directly contradicts reports suggesting that Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar were preparing to move their permanent base away from Mumbai.

The speculation was not entirely surprising to fans familiar with Yami’s background. The actress has deep connections with Himachal Pradesh and has frequently spoken about her roots and affection for the state.

What sparked the Yami-Aditya relocation reports?

An earlier NDTV report had claimed that the couple planned to make Himachal Pradesh their permanent base, linking the reported decision to Yami’s longstanding connection with the state.

Reports also highlighted a 100-year-old heritage property associated with Yami in Gohar, Mandi, spread across a reported 25-acre estate. The property’s traditional Himachali setting further fuelled speculation that Yami and Aditya might choose a quieter life away from Mumbai.

However, while reports about the property have circulated separately, Aditya’s team has specifically rejected the claim that the couple is permanently relocating to Himachal Pradesh.

For now, there appears to be a clear distinction between the couple having strong personal ties to Himachal and actually giving up Mumbai as their permanent base.

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar celebrate major career milestones

The clarification comes during an eventful phase for both Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar.

The couple recently celebrated recognition at the 72nd National Film Awards for their work on Article 370. Yami received the Best Actress honour, while Aditya was recognised as producer when the film won Best Feature Film.

Aditya has also remained in the spotlight following the commercial success of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Beyond their professional achievements, Yami and Aditya have generally preferred to keep their personal lives away from constant public attention, making the sudden relocation reports particularly noteworthy.

Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar first crossed professional paths while working on Uri: The Surgical Strike, Aditya’s 2019 directorial debut.

Their relationship largely remained outside the spotlight before the couple married in 2021 in an intimate ceremony. They later welcomed their son in 2024.

Even as both have become increasingly prominent names in the Hindi film industry, they have continued to maintain a relatively private family life.

What’s next for Yami Gautam?

On the professional front, Yami is now preparing for the release of Nayyi Navelli, scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 16.

With a new film around the corner and the couple fresh from major professional achievements, interest in their lives remains high. But when it comes to reports of permanently swapping Mumbai for the mountains, Aditya Dhar’s team has made its position clear: the story isn’t true.
