‘Drishyam 3’ Gets a New Title: Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar Returns for ‘The Conclusion’ But Is This Really the End?

Ajay Devgn is ready to step back into the calculated world of Vijay Salgaonkar, but this time the title itself promises an ending.

The third instalment of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, widely referred to until now as Drishyam 3, has officially been titled Drishyam The Conclusion. The suspense thriller is scheduled to arrive in theatres on October 2, 2026.

Devgn unveiled the film’s first poster on August 24, officially setting the stage for what is being positioned as the final chapter of Vijay Salgaonkar’s story.

And once again, everything comes down to one thing his family.

‘Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai’

The newly revealed poster carries the tagline:“Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai.”

The line roughly translating to “My truth, my right, only my family” perfectly captures the philosophy that has driven Vijay throughout the franchise.

For two films, audiences have watched the seemingly ordinary family man use his intelligence, observation and extraordinary ability to stay several moves ahead of investigators while protecting his wife and daughters.

Drishyam The Conclusion is now expected to reveal where that relentless determination ultimately leads him.

Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar returns for one final battle

A first-look teaser released in December 2025 had already hinted at the psychological direction of the third film.

Through Vijay’s voiceover, Ajay Devgn reflected on the many identities people have attached to his character from criminal and murderer to hero, innocent man, father and mastermind.

But Vijay’s answer remained unchanged: what others believe about him matters far less than protecting his family.

That moral ambiguity has been one of the defining strengths of the Drishyam films. Audiences know what happened, investigators have their suspicions, but proving the truth has always been another matter entirely.

The final film will now have to answer the franchise’s biggest question: How long can Vijay Salgaonkar remain ahead of everyone else?

Tabu and Shriya Saran are back

Abhishek Pathak, who directed Drishyam 2, returns to helm Drishyam The Conclusion.

Pathak has also co-written the screenplay with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.

Alongside Ajay Devgn, Tabu is set to return as IG Meera Deshmukh, whose personal connection to the case has made her one of Vijay’s most formidable adversaries.

Shriya Saran will reprise her role as Nandini Salgaonkar.

The third film is also set to introduce major new faces, with Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat joining the cast. Their presence adds another layer of intrigue to a story already known for its carefully constructed twists and reversals.

The film is produced by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios.

From ₹110 crore to ₹342 crore: ‘Drishyam’ became bigger with its sequel

The Hindi Drishyam journey began in 2015 with the remake of the acclaimed Malayalam thriller.

The first Hindi film became a strong success and reportedly collected around ₹110 crore worldwide, gradually developing an even larger following through television and digital viewing.

Then came Drishyam 2 in 2022.

The sequel significantly expanded the franchise’s theatrical appeal, reportedly collecting nearly ₹342 crore worldwide and turning Vijay Salgaonkar’s story into one of Hindi cinema’s most valuable thriller properties.

Those numbers naturally leave considerable expectations resting on Drishyam The Conclusion.

Hindi ‘Drishyam’ ends, but Mohanlal’s original story continues

Interestingly, while the Hindi franchise is being marketed as reaching its conclusion, the original Malayalam Drishyam universe appears to have more stories left to tell.

Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 was released on May 21, 2026, and reportedly went on to gross more than ₹242 crore.

Producer Antony Perumbavoor has since revealed that Drishyam 4 is in development, with the announcement emerging during the Mazhavil Manorama Awards.

That creates an interesting situation for the franchise: while Ajay Devgn’s Hindi version prepares for what is being presented as Vijay Salgaonkar’s final chapter, the Malayalam original continues to expand.

October 2 brings Vijay Salgaonkar back

The October 2 release date is particularly fitting for a franchise whose fans have long associated the date with Vijay Salgaonkar’s meticulously constructed alibi.

For viewers familiar with the films, the date itself has practically become part of Drishyam folklore.

Now, on October 2, 2026, Vijay will return to theatres for what is being billed as his final chapter.

After years of lies, alibis, investigations and carefully hidden truths, Drishyam The Conclusion has a difficult task ahead: delivering an ending worthy of one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated thriller franchises.

And if Vijay Salgaonkar has taught audiences anything, it is this never assume you know his final move.
