Did Alia Bhatt just hint at ‘Kalki 2898 AD Part 2’? Prabhas’ post and her cryptic emoji spark fresh buzz
A simple Instagram exchange between Prabhas and Alia Bhatt has sent fans into overdrive, with many convinced it points to her entry into Nag Ashwin’s futuristic epic sequel.
Is Alia Bhatt gearing up for a surprise entry into Kalki 2898 AD’s highly anticipated sequel?
That’s the question fans are asking after Prabhas publicly praised the trailer of Alia’s upcoming film Alpha, sparking a fresh wave of speculation online.
With Alpha, part of the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe, just days away from release, Prabhas took to Instagram Stories to share the trailer and shower praise on the film.
Calling it “amazing and promising”, the actor wished Alia, YRF and the entire team success ahead of its July 3 theatrical release.
But what seemed like a simple show of support quickly turned into something bigger.
Alia reposted Prabhas’ story and thanked him warmly, adding a sun emoji — a tiny detail that immediately caught fans’ attention.
And that’s where the internet did what it does best: connect the dots.
Many fans began speculating that the sun emoji could symbolically connect to Karna, the character played by Prabhas in the Kalki universe, fueling rumours that Alia may be part of Kalki 2898 AD Part 2.
Social media was soon flooded with theories, with users suggesting the exchange might be a subtle teaser for an upcoming casting announcement.

Adding fuel to the fire, rumours about Alia joining Kalki 2 have been circulating for months.
Several reports have claimed that the actress recently completed a brief shooting schedule in Hyderabad for the film. However, neither director Nag Ashwin nor the makers have officially confirmed her involvement.
If the rumours turn out to be true, insiders suggest Alia would be playing an entirely new character rather than replacing Deepika Padukone, whose future in the franchise remains uncertain.
Interestingly, this wouldn’t be the first time Prabhas has expressed admiration for Alia. During an appearance on Koffee with Karan, he once picked Alia over Deepika when asked who he considered the better actress — a moment fans are now revisiting.
For now, there’s no official word, and all speculation remains fan-driven.
But if there’s one thing clear from this viral exchange, it’s that the excitement around both Alpha and Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 just got even bigger.
