Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty share an emotional moment as they reflect on their journey from adversity to rebuilding their lives.

Actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty opened up about the most difficult chapter of their lives following the tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020.

Appearing on the talk show hosted by Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, the siblings spoke candidly about navigating public backlash, personal struggles, and eventually finding purpose through entrepreneurship.

A Painful Past That Changed Everything

The year 2020 marked a turning point in their lives—one that brought intense media scrutiny and emotional upheaval. Reflecting on that period, Showik admitted that starting their business wasn’t a calculated decision, but rather a necessity.

“We had no other option,” he said, recalling how both of them faced a lack of professional opportunities during that time. While Rhea struggled to secure film projects, Showik revealed that despite scoring an impressive 97% and gaining admission into an MBA programme, his life took an unexpected turn when he was arrested amid the controversy.

The siblings described that phase as isolating and overwhelming, but also one that ultimately pushed them toward rebuilding their lives from scratch.

When Family and Business Collide

Talking about their entrepreneurial journey, Rhea shared that working with family comes with its own complexities.

“Mixing personal emotions with professional responsibilities is never easy,” she admitted. Disagreements at home would often spill into work, sometimes escalating to the point where Showik considered moving out.

However, things gradually improved when they began living separately. According to Rhea, this change brought a healthier balance to both their personal and professional dynamics.

Despite occasional conflicts, she highlighted the advantage of trust that comes naturally when working with family. She also expressed pride in Showik’s evolution as a leader, noting how confidently he now handles his role as CEO while she oversees compliance and accounts.

From ‘Chudail Ka Badla’ to ‘Chapter 2’

In a lighter moment, Rhea revealed some quirky ideas she had during the early stages of their brand-building journey. One of her initial choices for the company’s name was “Chudail Ka Badla”—a bold and unconventional concept she even imagined printed on merchandise.

Another contender was “Black Sheep,” for which she had already created accessories like bracelets. However, after much deliberation and advice from close ones, the siblings settled on a more meaningful and symbolic name—“Chapter 2.”

The name, they explained, represents not just a business venture but a fresh start after a turbulent chapter in their lives.

A Story of Resilience and Reinvention

Today, for both Rhea and Showik, their company stands as more than just a source of income—it is a reflection of resilience, healing, and personal growth.

Their journey, marked by setbacks and second chances, serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, rebuilding is possible.

As Showik summed it up, life has slowly begun to move in a positive direction—one step at a time, one chapter at a time.
