During the success celebrations of ‘Peddi’, Buchi Babu was asked about the growing rumours suggesting that he could soon collaborate with Mahesh Babu on a mythological film. Rumours about a collaboration between Mahesh Babu and Buchi Babu Sana have been circulating for several months, even before the release of ‘Peddi’. Industry insiders believe the commercial success of the Ram Charan-starrer may have further strengthened the director’s position among top production houses and stars.

Buchi Babu Sana’s journey in the Telugu film industry has been remarkable. Before turning director, he worked closely under acclaimed filmmaker Sukumar as an assistant director on successful films such as ‘Arya 2’, ‘100% Love’, and ‘Rangasthalam’.

He made his directorial debut with the 2021 romantic drama ‘Uppena’, which emerged as both a critical and commercial success. The film later won the Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 69th National Film Awards, establishing Buchi Babu as one of the promising new-age filmmakers in Tollywood.
