The actor became emotional after a food crisis inside the house, admitting he may have made the wrong decision by joining the reality show before host Riteish Deshmukh convinced him to stay.
The latest episode of Netflix’s ‘Lock Upp’ Season 2 witnessed an emotional moment as Ram Kapoor broke down and requested host Riteish Deshmukh to evict him from the reality show, saying he no longer felt he belonged in the competition.
The actor, who has been at the centre of several discussions inside the house in recent weeks, admitted that the intense environment of the show had pushed him beyond his comfort zone.
Food Crisis Sparks Emotional Breakdown
The emotional episode began after the contestants were left with just ₹3,400 to purchase food for the entire house.
Instead of using the remaining money, the inmates decided to protest by staying hungry, believing the show’s makers would eventually provide meals. However, the strategy backfired.
By the following morning, the remaining amount had been deducted, leaving the contestants without food. During the ordeal, Ram Kapoor refused to perform the chore that would have earned dinner for the house, leading to growing tension among the contestants.
‘I Chose This Show by Mistake’
Unable to cope with the situation, Ram openly admitted that he felt out of place in the competition.“Yeh show mere liye galat hai, main iss show ke liye galat hoon shayad. I should have not said yes to a show like this. So I need to exit this show as soon as possible. I am not participating in this show anymore,” he said.
Later, while addressing host Riteish Deshmukh, Ram reiterated that he now understood the intensity of the game and believed he was not the right fit.“I have learnt in this one week that maybe I have made a mistake. I chose this show by mistake. I don’t want to disrespect you, Farah, Netflix or this game by staying here, so I request you to please evict me now,” he added.

Riteish Deshmukh Urges Him to Continue
Host Riteish Deshmukh stepped in to calm the situation and encouraged Ram not to make a decision based on one difficult phase of the competition.
He reminded the actor of his cheerful personality and the goodwill he has earned throughout his career, urging him to focus on the bigger picture rather than temporary setbacks inside the house.
Ram Opens Up About His Emotional Bond
Ram also revealed that one of the biggest reasons behind his emotional reaction was the close bond he had developed with the younger contestants.
He admitted that watching others go hungry affected him deeply.“My biggest disadvantage right now is that I have started loving all of them. They are all much younger than I am. When I am getting food, and they are not, it’s really bothering me. I can’t look out only for myself and ignore them,” he said.
His emotional confession received sympathy from several viewers, while also highlighting the mental and emotional pressures contestants experience inside the reality show.
Backlash Continues
Apart from the emotional episode, Ram Kapoor has also faced criticism in recent weeks over some of his controversial remarks inside the house.
Despite his request to leave, Riteish Deshmukh’s intervention appears to have convinced the actor to continue his journey on the show for now.
‘Lock Upp’ Season 2 streams on Netflix from Saturday to Thursday at 8 PM, with new episodes featuring intense tasks, emotional moments, and dramatic confrontations.
