‘Cases Won’t Silence Rahul Gandhi’: Congress Workers Hit Patna Streets, Burn Uttarakhand CM Dhami’s Effigy Over FIR

Hundreds of Congress workers took to the streets in Patna on Monday to protest against the case registered against Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in Uttarakhand, turning the issue into another political confrontation between the Congress and BJP.

The demonstration was led by Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru and state Congress president Rajesh Ram.

During the protest, party workers raised slogans against the BJP government and burnt an effigy of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami near JP Ganga Path Mor.

Congress leaders described the case against Rahul Gandhi as an act of alleged political vendetta and linked it to what they called the BJP’s “anti-Dalit policies.”

‘Filing Cases Against Rahul Will Not Silence Congress’

Addressing party workers, Krishna Allavaru said legal cases would not prevent Congress from raising issues related to the Constitution and social justice.

“Filing cases against Rahul would not silence Congress,” Allavaru said.

He added that Congress workers would continue their fight “from the streets to Parliament” to defend constitutional values and social justice.

Allavaru maintained that the party would not retreat because of cases or intimidation.

According to him, Rahul Gandhi’s political fight was centred on the rights and interests of the poor, Dalits, backward classes, youth, farmers and workers.

Bihar Congress Questions BJP

Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram also targeted the BJP during the demonstration.

He said Rahul Gandhi had consistently raised questions concerning the Constitution, democracy and social justice, arguing that the BJP should respond to those issues rather than attempt to silence political opponents.

Rajesh Ram further accused the ruling party of pursuing politics that, according to him, was weakening constitutional values and democratic institutions.

He alleged that the rights of Dalits, backward communities, economically weaker sections and other marginalised groups were under pressure.
