Alpha Box Office Collection Day 4: Alia Bhatt's Spy Thriller Crosses ₹35 Crore After Monday Dip
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari's Alpha has crossed ₹35 crore at the Indian box office despite witnessing an expected dip in collections on its first Monday.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer Alpha has crossed the ₹35 crore mark at the Indian box office, although the film experienced a noticeable dip in collections on its first Monday after an encouraging opening weekend.

According to early trade estimates, the Yash Raj Films (YRF) spy thriller earned around ₹1.60 crore (net) in India by 6 pm on Day 4, taking its total domestic collection to approximately ₹35.60 crore.

The slowdown was expected as theatres transitioned from the weekend rush to regular weekday business, with audience occupancy witnessing a sharp decline.

Alpha Box Office Collection So Far

The film enjoyed a steady upward trend during its first three days in cinemas.

  • Day 1 (Friday): ₹9.25 crore
  • Day 2 (Saturday): ₹11.50 crore
  • Day 3 (Sunday): ₹13.25 crore
  • Day 4 (Monday – early estimates): ₹1.60 crore

This brings the film’s total India net collection to ₹35.60 crore.

Monday Sees Expected Slowdown

While Alpha comfortably crossed the ₹35 crore milestone, its first Monday collections were significantly lower than its weekend earnings.

Trade reports suggest that overall occupancy dropped to around 11%, reflecting the usual decline in footfalls after the opening weekend. The number of screenings also reduced from 7,439 shows on Sunday to 5,128 shows on Monday, contributing to the lower collection figures.

Despite the dip, the film has maintained a respectable hold in its opening week and will now rely on weekday stability to build momentum ahead of its second weekend.

A Milestone Film for the YRF Spy Universe

Alpha holds special significance as the first female-led film in the hugely successful YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbuster franchises such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3.

Story and Star Cast

Written by Soumil Shukla, Shridhar Raghavan, Ishita Moitra, and Uday Chopra, Alpha follows the journey of a highly trained assassin who was raised in isolation and turned into a super-soldier by a rogue military commander.

After uncovering the truth about her stolen childhood, she teams up with her long-lost sister to dismantle the secret military programme that shaped her life.

Apart from Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, the film also features Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.

The action thriller was shot across Mumbai, Kashmir, and Valladolid, with principal photography beginning soon after the film’s title was officially announced in July 2024.

As Alpha enters its first full week in theatres, all eyes will now be on whether it can maintain a steady run and continue strengthening its position at the box office.
