Redmi 17 4G Full Specs Leak Ahead of Launch: 7,500mAh Battery, 120Hz Display and a Chipset Surprise…
The Redmi 17 4G could arrive with a massive 7,500mAh battery, 45W charging, a 6.9-inch 120Hz display and MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra processor, according to a fresh leak.
The upcoming Redmi 17 4G has once again appeared in the spotlight, and this time, a fresh leak has reportedly revealed almost the entire specification sheet of the smartphone.
The budget-focused handset has already appeared in certification databases and an EPREL listing, with the latter reportedly revealing key battery information. Now, a new leak has filled in several of the remaining details, including the processor, display, cameras, memory configurations and software.
If the leaked specifications turn out to be accurate, the Redmi 17 4G could arrive with one of its biggest selling points in the form of a huge 7,500mAh battery.
However, there is also a surprise under the hood.
Redmi 17 4G chipset: Snapdragon rumours take a turn
The processor has been one of the biggest points of discussion surrounding the upcoming smartphone.
Earlier certification listings had reportedly led to speculation that the Redmi 17 4G could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset. That assumption was partly linked to model numbers reportedly shared with the rumoured POCO C95 Pro 4G in certain databases.
The latest leak, however, points in a different direction.
According to the newly leaked information, the Redmi 17 4G could instead use MediaTek’s 12nm Helio G91-Ultra processor.

This would represent a significant shift from earlier speculation, although the exact chipset will remain unconfirmed until Redmi officially announces the phone.
Interestingly, if the Redmi 17 4G and the rumoured POCO C95 Pro 4G do turn out to be closely related or rebadged versions of the same device, the POCO model could potentially feature the same MediaTek processor. For now, however, that remains speculation.
6.9-inch display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate
The display is expected to be another major attraction of the Redmi 17 4G.
The leaked specifications suggest that the phone could feature a large 6.9-inch flat display with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels.
The panel is reportedly expected to support an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which should make scrolling and animations appear smoother than on standard 60Hz displays.
The display is also tipped to offer around 675 nits of typical brightness, with the brightness reportedly reaching up to 825 nits in High Brightness Mode.
Other reported display specifications include 8-bit colour depth, an 83 per cent NTSC colour gamut and DC dimming.
The panel is also said to have received TÜV Rheinland certifications related to low-blue-light output, circadian-friendly viewing and flicker-free performance.
For a budget-oriented smartphone, the combination of a large screen and a 120Hz refresh rate could be an appealing proposition for users who spend considerable time watching videos, browsing social media or playing games.
Redmi 17 4G design and colours
The leaked details suggest that the Redmi 17 4G will continue the brand’s focus on practical design while adding some visual flair.
The smartphone is expected to feature a Dynamic RGB light around the rear camera area, a design element that has already appeared in earlier renders of the handset.
The phone could reportedly be offered in four colour options:
- Oak Green
- Deep Blue
- Black
- Lotus Purple
In terms of dimensions, the device is tipped to measure approximately 170.12 x 78.42 x 8.8mm and weigh around 232 grams.

The smartphone is also expected to carry an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and water splashes.
For screen protection, the leaked specifications point towards Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
Up to 6GB RAM and 256GB storage
The Redmi 17 4G could be available in multiple memory configurations, giving buyers some flexibility depending on their storage requirements.
The reported options include:
- 4GB RAM + 128GB storage
- 4GB RAM + 256GB storage
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage
- 6GB RAM + 256GB storage
The handset is expected to use LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.
The availability of a 256GB storage option could be useful for consumers who store a large number of photos, videos and applications on their phones.
However, the combination of entry-level memory and storage technology means that buyers looking for the fastest possible performance may need to look at higher-end alternatives.
50MP rear camera and 8MP selfie shooter
On the photography front, the Redmi 17 4G is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with a 5P lens and an f/1.8 aperture.
The main sensor is reportedly accompanied by an auxiliary lens, although the exact purpose and specifications of the secondary camera remain unclear.
For selfies and video calls, the phone could feature an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.05 aperture.
Video recording is reportedly expected to max out at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
The camera setup appears to be designed primarily for everyday photography rather than competing with more expensive smartphones that offer dedicated ultrawide or telephoto cameras.
Massive 7,500mAh battery could be the biggest attraction
If there is one specification that immediately stands out, it is the battery.
The Redmi 17 4G is reportedly set to pack a huge 7,500mAh battery, making endurance one of the phone’s strongest potential selling points.
The battery is expected to support 45W wired fast charging.
Earlier EPREL-related information reportedly suggested that the phone could deliver nearly 74 hours of battery endurance under the relevant testing methodology, while also retaining more than 80 per cent battery health after 1,000 charging cycles.
Real-world battery life will, of course, depend heavily on factors such as screen brightness, network conditions, gaming and app usage. Still, the sheer capacity of the battery suggests that the Redmi 17 4G could appeal strongly to users who prioritise long-lasting smartphones.
HyperOS 3 and other features
On the software front, the Redmi 17 4G is expected to run HyperOS 3, reportedly based on Android 16.
The phone could also feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and AI-powered face unlock.
Connectivity options are tipped to include dual-band Wi-Fi, while NFC support may vary depending on the market.
The combination of a large battery, 120Hz display and the latest HyperOS software could make the Redmi 17 4G an interesting option in the affordable smartphone segment.
Redmi 17 4G launch: What we know so far
Despite the growing number of leaks and certification appearances, Redmi has not officially announced the Redmi 17 4G or confirmed its launch date.
Earlier reports have suggested a possible European price of around €250 for the entry-level model, but pricing is not confirmed and may vary significantly between markets.
There is also no confirmed information about the phone’s launch timeline or pricing in India.
For now, the Redmi 17 4G remains a device surrounded by leaks rather than official announcements. But if the latest specifications prove accurate, the phone could make a strong pitch to buyers who value battery life above all else.
A 7,500mAh battery, 45W charging and a 120Hz display certainly look impressive on paper. The bigger question will be whether the reported Helio G91-Ultra processor and entry-level eMMC 5.1 storage can deliver an experience that matches the expectations created by the rest of the hardware.
Until Redmi makes the phone official, one thing is clear: the Redmi 17 4G is shaping up to be a smartphone that could make its biggest statement not with flagship performance, but with serious battery endurance.
