‘Jana Nayagan’ Impact? GV Prakash’s Immortal Postponed as Makers Avoid Vijay’s Mega Release

The makers of Immortal, starring GV Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar, have officially postponed the film’s release, making way for Vijay’s highly anticipated Jana Nayagan.

Originally scheduled to hit theatres on July 23, Immortal will now arrive on September 4, a decision announced shortly after KVN Productions confirmed the release date of Jana Nayagan.

Makers Acknowledge Vijay’s Arrival

While announcing the revised release date, the makers of Immortal shared a light-hearted message on social media that hinted at the reason behind the postponement.

The caption read:“Thalapathy vandha thalli poyi dhaaney aaganum adhuvum one Last time…. Best of luck team JN.”

The message has been widely interpreted as a gesture of respect towards Vijay’s much-awaited release, with the team choosing to avoid a direct box-office clash.

A Fantasy Thriller With a Supernatural Twist

Directed by Mariyappan Chinna, known for Jackpot, Immortal is described as a fantasy thriller.

Although the makers have kept the storyline under wraps, the teaser offers a glimpse into a mysterious narrative centred around a young man, played by GV Prakash Kumar, who develops feelings for his neighbour, portrayed by Kayadu Lohar.

As strange events begin unfolding inside an apartment complex, the protagonist finds himself haunted by terrifying supernatural forces, including a giant monster, setting the stage for an intense fantasy-horror experience.
