Donald Trump Warns Iran: ‘One Shot… We Can Knock Down Their Bridges in One Hour’ Fresh Threat Amid Nuclear Talks

US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, declaring that the United States is prepared to take swift military action if ongoing efforts to reach a new nuclear agreement collapse.

Speaking at the White House on Monday, Trump said his administration remains committed to pursuing diplomacy but stressed that Washington is fully prepared to act if negotiations fail.”We’re going to either make a deal or we’re going to finish the job,” Trump said, adding that he would prefer a diplomatic solution to avoid harming the Iranian people.

The US President also claimed that American forces could severely damage Iran’s infrastructure within a very short period if conflict became unavoidable.

Trump Reiterates Nuclear Red Line

During his remarks, Trump repeated that the United States would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

He said any future agreement would require Tehran to surrender its enriched nuclear material, describing it as what he called “nuclear dust.” At the same time, Trump insisted that Washington’s objective is not regime change but preventing Iran from developing nuclear capabilities.

His comments come as indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran remain deadlocked despite recent diplomatic efforts.

Nuclear Talks Yet to Produce Breakthrough

Indirect discussions between Washington and Tehran concluded in Doha last week without a publicly announced breakthrough.

The talks were held during a 60-day ceasefire period intended to create room for diplomacy following months of heightened military tensions triggered by US and Israeli strikes earlier this year.

Although both sides have expressed interest in keeping diplomatic channels open, significant differences remain over Iran’s nuclear programme and the future of sanctions.

Funeral Remarks Trigger Fresh Controversy

Trump also referred to the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, suggesting the United States had deliberately avoided targeting Iran’s leadership while diplomatic options remained on the table.

He claimed senior Iranian officials had gathered in one place during the funeral but said the US chose not to act because negotiations were still possible.

The President further questioned the scale of public mourning, describing the emotional scenes as “maybe fake tears”—remarks that quickly drew criticism from Iranian officials.

Iran Hits Back

Iran strongly rejected Trump’s statements, accusing Washington of using threatening language while claiming to support diplomacy.

In a statement posted on X, the Iranian Embassy in Armenia criticised the United States, saying it lacked “civilisation, history and honour.”

The embassy also referred to the large crowds at Khamenei’s funeral, stating that while individuals may die, their ideals continue to inspire future generations.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, dismissed Trump’s warnings as unrealistic and warned that Iran would respond firmly to any threats.

He said the Iranian people do not respond to intimidation and urged the United States to engage with Tehran through mutual respect rather than military rhetoric.

Diplomacy Remains Uncertain

The latest exchange highlights the fragile state of US-Iran relations, with both countries continuing to pursue diplomatic contacts while simultaneously exchanging sharp public warnings.

As negotiations remain stalled, uncertainty continues over whether both sides can revive a nuclear agreement or whether tensions could escalate further in the coming months.
