India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has officially begun preparations for his return to international cricket, sharing glimpses of his training sessions ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against England.

The star pacer, who has been rested from the ongoing T20I series against Ireland and England as part of a workload management plan, posted pictures of himself bowling in the nets on Instagram. The images quickly gained traction on social media, with fans expressing excitement over his return.

Bumrah Gears Up for ODI Comeback

Following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Bumrah has been on a carefully monitored break to manage his workload and maintain peak fitness for a busy international calendar.

His next assignment will be the ODI series against England, beginning on July 14, where he is expected to spearhead India’s pace attack.

The series will also serve as crucial preparation ahead of India’s Test tour of Sri Lanka in August.

Why Is Bumrah Missing the T20I Series?

While announcing India’s squads for the Ireland and England T20I tours, chief selector Ajit Agarkar clarified that Bumrah’s absence was purely a precautionary measure.

According to Agarkar, the decision was taken to ensure the fast bowler remains fresh for the longer-format assignments and to avoid unnecessary workload after an intense IPL season.

Despite being rested from the T20Is, Bumrah remains an integral part of India’s plans for the upcoming ODI series and is also included in the country’s Asian Games squad.
