PCB New Contracts 2026: Pakistan Players Get Huge Salary Hike, Higher Match Fees and 500% Bonuses

In a significant boost for Pakistan’s cricketing fraternity, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly finalized a revamped central contract structure that could dramatically increase the earnings of national team players.

The new framework, which is said to have been shaped under the guidance of Mike Hesson , Pakistan’s head coach, and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed , introduces higher monthly retainers, increased match fees, and substantial performance-linked incentives.

Match Fees Nearly Double Under New Structure

One of the most notable changes is the reported increase in match fees across all formats. Test specialists are expected to receive up to PKR 1.5 million per Test match, a significant rise from the previous PKR 800,000.

The revised payment structure highlights PCB’s intent to reward players more generously for representing the national team, particularly in the longer format of the game.

According to reports, the revised match fees are expected to be:

  • Test Match Fee: PKR 15 lakh
  • ODI Match Fee: PKR 7.5 lakh
  • T20I Match Fee: PKR 5 lakh

The move places Pakistan’s international cricketers among the better-compensated players in the region and reflects the board’s efforts to strengthen player motivation and commitment.

Monthly Retainers Get a Major Upgrade

Under the new contract model, players placed in the top categories are expected to enjoy substantial increases in their guaranteed monthly income.

Cricketers included in PCB’s prestigious A and B categories could reportedly receive monthly retainers of up to PKR 5 million. Players in Category B are also expected to secure handsome earnings, while Category C players, many of whom combine international cricket with franchise commitments, are likely to receive retainers of around PKR 1.5 million per month.

The PCB is yet to officially announce the final list of contracted players, but the revised figures indicate a clear focus on rewarding performance and consistency.

Massive Bonuses for Winning Major Tournaments

The new contract structure reportedly goes beyond fixed salaries and match fees by introducing attractive tournament-winning incentives.

Players who help Pakistan lift an ICC title are expected to receive a bonus worth 500 percent of their match fee. Similarly, winning the Asia Cup could earn players a 300 percent bonus.

Such incentives are designed to encourage elite performances on cricket’s biggest stages and align player rewards with team success.

What Could Pakistan Players Earn Annually?

The revised contracts could substantially increase the annual earnings of Pakistan’s leading cricketers.

Estimated yearly earnings under the reported structure include:

  • Test-only players: Around PKR 4.8 crore
  • Test and ODI players: Around PKR 6 crore
  • ODI and T20I players: Around PKR 2.16 crore
  • T20I and league-cricket specialists: Around PKR 1.18 crore

These figures combine retainers, match fees, and other contractual benefits, making the package one of the most rewarding introduced by PCB in recent years.

A New Era of Financial Security for Pakistan Cricket?

The reported overhaul reflects PCB’s ambition to create a more competitive and financially secure environment for its players. With franchise leagues around the world offering lucrative opportunities, national boards are increasingly under pressure to retain top talent through improved contracts and incentives.

If implemented as reported, the new central contracts could strengthen Pakistan’s player pool, reward consistent performers, and provide greater motivation ahead of major international tournaments.

While the cricket board is yet to make an official announcement regarding the final contract list and exact terms, the proposed package has already generated excitement across Pakistan’s cricket circles.

For many players, this could be the most rewarding contract cycle of their careers.
