Samantha Ruth Prabhu Confirms Pregnancy, Announces Film Break ‘I Need a Maternity Break’
After weeks of speculation, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has officially confirmed that she is expecting her first child with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, while also revealing plans to step away from films for a while.
The actress, who is currently basking in the success of her latest film Maa Inti Bangaram, has officially confirmed that she is expecting a baby, putting an end to the pregnancy rumours that had been swirling across social media over the past few days.
Samantha shared the happy news during the success meet of her film in Hyderabad, where she also opened up about an important decision regarding her career.
Addressing the media, the actress revealed that she plans to take a break from acting after completing her current commitments.
“After Maa Inti Bangaram, I will take a short break to focus on my health. I will need to take a maternity break. After that, I will return with another film for my fans,” Samantha said, drawing loud applause and heartfelt congratulations from those present.

This marks a significant personal milestone for Samantha, who married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru just six months ago on December 1, 2025.
The couple reportedly had a private and traditional wedding ceremony at the Linga Bhairavi Devi Temple, attended only by close family members and a few friends.
Raj Nidimoru, best known as one-half of the acclaimed director duo Raj & DK, has been behind some of India’s most successful web series including The Family Man and Farzi.
For Samantha, this will be her second marriage. The actress was earlier married to actor Naga Chaitanya in 2017 before the couple parted ways in 2021.
Professionally, Samantha has remained one of the most versatile stars in Indian cinema, balancing mainstream films and digital projects with equal ease. Her performance in The Family Man 2 further cemented her pan-India popularity.
