Moradabad Brass Factory Inferno: Fire Rages Through Two Floors, ‘Short Circuit’ Suspected as 100 Personnel Battle Blaze
A massive late-night fire broke out at a brass trophy manufacturing unit on Delhi Road in Moradabad, forcing firefighters from multiple towns to join a two-hour operation before the flames were finally brought under control.
MORADABAD: Panic gripped the Niryat Nagar area on Delhi Road late Wednesday night after a devastating fire broke out at a brass trophy manufacturing factory, sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky and flames soaring up to the second floor of the building.
The incident occurred at around 11 PM at Keshav Lal Overseas, a factory located opposite Circuit House and owned by local businessman Gopal Mehta. According to initial reports, the day’s shift had ended and most workers had already left the premises. Only a security guard was present when smoke was first noticed inside the factory.
Within minutes, the situation escalated dramatically as the fire spread rapidly through the premises. The guard immediately alerted the police and emergency services, prompting a swift response from the Fire Department.

However, the intensity of the blaze proved challenging for local firefighting teams. As the flames continued to spread, additional fire tenders were called in from Kanth, Bilari, and Thakurdwara to assist in the operation.
Firefighters reportedly had to break open the factory gate to gain access. Water pipelines were then extended from nearby facilities, allowing crews to launch a coordinated effort to contain the fire before it could spread to surrounding structures.
Rajeev Kumar Pandey, a fire department official, said the flames had already reached the second floor by the time emergency teams arrived. After nearly two hours of continuous firefighting, authorities finally succeeded in bringing the situation under control.
10 Fire Tenders, 100 Personnel Deployed
Officials confirmed that approximately 10 fire tenders and nearly 100 personnel were involved in the emergency response. The large-scale deployment helped prevent a potentially bigger disaster in the industrial area.

According to ASP Satpal Antil, firefighters and support staff worked relentlessly for nearly two hours to contain the blaze and ensure nearby properties remained safe.
Short Circuit Emerges as Possible Cause
While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be officially confirmed, preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have triggered the incident. Authorities have launched a detailed probe to determine the source of the fire and assess the extent of property damage.
No casualties or injuries were reported at the time of filing this report, offering a measure of relief amid what could have turned into a far more serious tragedy.
As investigations continue, questions remain over industrial fire safety measures and whether additional precautions could have prevented the late-night inferno.
