Kunal Khemu turns reality Show host with Prime video’s high-stakes Series ‘Alliance’
Prime Video unveils its new reality series Alliance, hosted by Kunal Kemmu, where trust, betrayal, and shifting loyalties will decide the ultimate winner.
Actor Kunal Khemu is stepping into an entirely new space in his career as he gears up to host Prime Video’s upcoming reality series Alliance. The ambitious unscripted show promises strategy, manipulation, emotional drama, and unexpected betrayals — all packed into a high-intensity competition format.
The Hindi-language reality series is set to stream globally across more than 240 countries and territories, marking one of Prime Video India’s biggest reality launches yet.
Kunal Khemu Makes His Reality Hosting Debut
Known for his versatility in films and web content, Kunal Kemmu will now be seen leading a reality format for the very first time.
Produced by Banijay Asia, Alliance will feature 16 contestants entering the competition as pairs and trusted allies. However, the game quickly transforms into a psychological and strategic battle where friendships are tested and loyalties constantly shift.
The central idea of the show revolves around one powerful rule — no alliance is permanent.
As contestants compete for survival and the ultimate prize, they must navigate deception, trust issues, tactical gameplay, and emotional pressure inside the competition.
A Global Format Reimagined for Indian Audiences
Prime Video confirmed that Alliance is the first international adaptation of the popular Dutch format created by John de Mol and Talpa Studios.
The makers have redesigned the show specifically for Indian viewers while retaining the unpredictable gameplay and tension that made the original format successful internationally.
The reality series will reportedly unfold across 42 episodes over six weeks, with fresh episodes releasing daily at 12 noon.
Prime Video Bets Big on Reality Entertainment
Speaking about the show, Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, described Alliance as a first-of-its-kind reality format for the Indian market.
“We are thrilled to bring Alliance to audiences across the country. The format combines strategy, shifting loyalties and evolving gameplay, creating an immersive experience that keeps viewers engaged every day,” he said.
Madhok also highlighted Prime Video’s growing focus on experimental unscripted entertainment formats.
According to him, the success of previous reality and celebrity-led shows has encouraged the platform to expand further into unconventional content categories.
Banijay Asia Continues Expanding Unscripted Content
The project also strengthens Prime Video’s collaboration with Banijay Asia, one of the leading reality content production companies in India.

In recent years, audiences have shown increasing interest in strategy-driven reality shows where psychological gameplay and alliances become just as important as physical tasks or popularity.
Alliance appears to tap directly into that trend, positioning itself as a fast-paced competition where contestants constantly adapt to survive.

Why Alliance Is Already Generating Buzz
The combination of daily episodes, unpredictable gameplay, international format roots, and Kunal Khemu’s hosting debut has already generated strong curiosity online.
Viewers are particularly intrigued by the show’s core concept — contestants beginning as allies but eventually being forced to question every relationship inside the game.
With betrayal, trust, strategy, and survival at its centre, Alliance could become one of India’s most talked-about reality experiments on streaming this year.
As Prime Video continues expanding its unscripted slate, the platform appears determined to push beyond traditional reality television formulas and deliver content built around psychological tension and social dynamics.
