₹3,000–₹5,000 Price Shock Hits iQOO & Vivo Phones… iQOO 15, Neo 10, Vivo T5 Pro Get Costlier Amid Global Chip Crisis
From flagship iQOO 15 to mid-range Vivo T5 Pro, several popular smartphones in India have quietly become more expensive as the global memory chip shortage begins to hit consumer wallets.
Smartphone buyers in India may need to rethink their upgrade plans. A fresh round of price revisions has quietly pushed up the cost of several popular devices from Vivo Vivo and iQOO iQOO, with increases ranging from ₹1,000 to nearly ₹3,000 across models.
The price hike comes at a time when the global smartphone industry is already grappling with a growing shortage of memory chips, a crisis that is steadily increasing production costs for manufacturers.
Among the most affected devices is the Vivo T5 Pro Vivo T5 Pro, which has seen one of the sharpest jumps. The 8GB + 128GB variant now costs ₹32,999, up from ₹29,999, while the 256GB version has increased to ₹36,999 from ₹33,999. In total, buyers are now paying up to ₹3,000 more than launch pricing.
The impact is even more visible in the premium segment. The flagship iQOO 15 iQOO 15 has received its first major price revision since launch. The 12GB + 256GB variant now retails at ₹74,999, while the higher 512GB version has climbed to ₹81,999.
Similarly, the performance-focused iQOO 15R iQOO 15R lineup has also become costlier across all configurations. Prices have increased by up to ₹2,000 per variant, pushing the top-end model to ₹59,999. Even the mid-range iQOO Neo 10 iQOO Neo 10 has not been spared, with a uniform ₹2,000 hike across variants.

Industry observers say this is not an isolated move but part of a broader trend affecting the entire smartphone ecosystem. The ongoing shortage of memory components has significantly increased input costs, forcing brands to revisit earlier aggressive pricing strategies.
Analysts point out that companies often launch devices at competitive prices to capture early demand, but rising component costs eventually lead to corrections. This appears to be exactly what is happening now, especially for devices that were launched only recently.
What makes this development particularly important for Indian consumers is timing. Many of these smartphones were initially marketed as value-driven or aggressively priced performance devices. With the latest hikes, some models are now inching closer to higher price brackets, potentially reshaping buying decisions in the mid-premium and flagship segments.
For now, the revised prices are already visible across official brand websites and major online retail platforms. Whether more models will be affected in the coming weeks remains to be seen, but industry signals suggest that the memory chip shortage is far from over — and smartphone prices may remain under pressure for the foreseeable future.
