Dark clouds cover the Delhi sky as the capital prepares for heavy rainfall and changing monsoon conditions from July 18 to July 21.

New Delhi: The Delhi-NCR region is likely to witness a significant change in weather conditions between July 18 and July 21, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting chances of rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds during this period.

After experiencing humid conditions and fluctuating temperatures, the national capital may finally get relief as monsoon activity is expected to become more active. The weather system developing over parts of North India could bring scattered to moderate showers across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and nearby areas.

According to weather forecasts, July 18 and July 19 may see increased cloud cover with possibilities of rainfall at several locations. The chances of stronger showers could continue on July 20 and July 21, bringing cooler conditions but also raising concerns about waterlogging and traffic disruptions in low-lying areas.

The Delhi Traffic Police and civic authorities often remain on alert during heavy rainfall periods due to challenges like flooded roads, slow-moving traffic and drainage issues. Residents have been advised to stay updated with official weather warnings and plan their travel accordingly.

The monsoon season has already brought varying weather patterns across several parts of India. While rainfall provides relief from heat and improves air quality, intense showers can create difficulties for commuters and urban infrastructure.

Weather experts suggest that Delhi residents should keep umbrellas and rain protection gear ready as sudden showers may occur in different parts of the city. Authorities are also monitoring the situation closely to handle any weather-related challenges.

The coming days will be crucial for Delhi’s weather outlook, as the capital continues to experience the impact of active monsoon conditions.
