Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar proved why he is admired beyond the silver screen. During the grand trailer launch of Welcome To The Jungle, the actor stepped in to help a man dressed as a gorilla who appeared to be in distress—turning an already glamorous event into a truly memorable one.

The star-studded event, held at YRF Studios in Mumbai on June 11, was nothing short of spectacular. Designed with an extravagant jungle theme complete with artificial waterfalls and reportedly costing around ₹1.5 crore, the venue hosted a massive ensemble cast of 27 actors. Among those present were Disha Patani, Rajpal Yadav, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade, among others.

Unexpected moment steals the spotlight

The event was progressing smoothly when an unexpected incident grabbed everyone’s attention. While Rajpal Yadav was addressing the audience, Akshay Kumar suddenly got up from his seat and moved toward the edge of the stage.

At first, it seemed like a spontaneous interruption. But within moments, it became clear that something was wrong.

Akshay noticed a performer dressed in a gorilla costume standing near the stage, who appeared visibly uncomfortable.

“Take off the mask… you might suffocate,” Akshay instructed, showing quick concern.

The situation turned serious when it was revealed that the man’s heart rate had dropped. Thanks to Akshay’s timely intervention, the performer was able to remove the mask and regain composure—avoiding what could have escalated into a medical emergency.

After ensuring everything was under control, the actor calmly returned to his seat, as if nothing unusual had happened—yet the audience knew they had just witnessed something extraordinary.

Welcome To The Jungle marks the third instalment in the popular Welcome franchise, following the success of Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015).

During the event, Akshay also shared a nostalgic anecdote about reuniting with Raveena Tandon after more than two decades.

“Her professionalism has not changed… she is still the same,” Akshay said.

He went on to recall a moment from their earlier shoot:

“There were only 25–30 minutes left before sunset… changing costumes seemed impossible. But she quickly changed in a generator van and came back for the shot.”
