Actor Aditi Malikk has responded to pregnancy rumours and body-shaming comments, urging people to be kinder and avoid making assumptions about others' appearances.

Mumbai: Television actor Aditi Malikk has strongly responded to online trolls and pregnancy rumours after a recent social media post sparked speculation about her appearance. Addressing the comments, the actor urged people to be more mindful before judging someone’s body, saying that thoughtless remarks can have a lasting emotional impact.

In a video shared on her social media account, Aditi spoke candidly about the criticism she received after posting a clip in which her stomach was visible because of the way she was sitting. Several users assumed she was expecting another child, while others commented on her weight and appearance.

Reacting to the remarks, Aditi said comments about a person’s body, weight or bloating may seem harmless to those making them, but they can deeply affect the individual receiving them.

She recalled reading remarks such as, “You’ve gained weight,” “Your stomach looks bigger,” and “Your face looks bloated,” adding that people should think twice before making personal observations, whether online or in real life.

Referring to the post that triggered the speculation, Aditi explained that many people assumed she was pregnant simply because her paunch was visible while she was seated. She clarified that there was no such news and stressed that assumptions based on appearances are unfair.

The actor also spoke about her confidence and acceptance of her own body, saying she is proud of what it represents.

Towards the end of her video, Aditi appealed for greater kindness on social media, reminding people that they never truly know what someone else may be going through.
