Kawasaki launches 2027 KLX230 at higher price… Same bike, Same looks, But Rs 35,000 costlier
Kawasaki has introduced the 2027 KLX230 in India at Rs 2.19 lakh, but the off-road machine arrives with a sharp price hike and almost no major updates.
Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2027 model year KLX230 in the Indian market, pricing the dual-purpose motorcycle at Rs 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
But there’s one thing that has caught everyone’s attention the bike is now Rs 35,000 more expensive than the outgoing MY26 version, despite carrying almost no significant changes.
For off-road enthusiasts, the KLX230 has always been known as a practical and capable machine that blends dirt-riding ability with road legality. That core formula remains untouched in the new model.
Mechanically, the bike continues with the same 233cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 18.7 bhp and 19 Nm of torque. The engine setup remains focused on reliability and low-end performance, making it ideal for trail riding and rough terrain adventures.
Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork and a monoshock rear setup, offering substantial travel 220mm at the front and 223mm at the rear. This gives the motorcycle enough flexibility to tackle uneven surfaces comfortably.
The seat height remains a towering 880mm, which may suit experienced riders better than beginners, while the bike maintains a relatively lightweight kerb weight of 139kg, making it easier to manage off-road.

Visually, the new MY27 KLX230 carries forward the exact same design as before, with no noticeable styling updates or graphic revisions. It continues to be available in two familiar shades — Lime Green and Battle Grey.

Many enthusiasts were hoping for at least minor cosmetic updates to justify the price increase, but Kawasaki has chosen to keep things simple this time.
Interestingly, the company has not revealed the reason behind the steep price revision, leaving buyers wondering what prompted the jump.
Despite the price hike, the KLX230 remains one of the few dedicated off-road-capable motorcycles in India that can legally be ridden on public roads, keeping it relevant for adventure riders.
The big question now is whether the unchanged package can still attract buyers at its new premium price point.
