‘The Results Are Showing Now’: Ravi Bishnoi Reveals What Changed After England Setback as India Complete Zimbabwe Sweep

Ravi Bishnoi has revealed how a crucial technical correction at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru helped him bounce back from a disappointing performance against England, with the leg-spinner playing his part in India’s clean sweep over Zimbabwe in the three-match T20I series.

Bishnoi admitted that he had been struggling with flaws in his bowling run-up, which affected his rhythm during the T20I against England in Manchester. After working closely with bowling coaches Sairaj Bahutule and Sunil Joshi, the 24-year-old believes the improvements are now paying off.

Technical changes helped Bishnoi regain confidence

The spinner endured a forgettable outing against England after overstepping multiple times and conceding 60 runs, prompting the coaching staff to address issues with his approach to the crease.

Reflecting on the changes, Bishnoi said the hard work at the CoE has started delivering results.”I worked on the areas that needed improvement because there were a few errors in my bowling. I worked on them, and now the results are showing.”

He also praised the support he received from the coaching staff during the correction process.”I got a lot of support from the coaches and they told me what I needed to do. I had started going a little too wide, which usually doesn’t happen, but unfortunately, it kept happening in that match against England.”

The adjustments helped Bishnoi return with renewed confidence during the Zimbabwe series, where he claimed three wickets across the three matches.

Harare conditions suited India’s bowlers

Bishnoi also spoke about the playing conditions at the Harare Sports Club, explaining that although the pitches offered very little turn for spinners, the low bounce and skid suited his bowling style.

According to the leg-spinner, larger boundaries also gave bowlers an added advantage in containing aggressive batters.”There isn’t much turn, but one good thing for us is that our balls go straight and stay low. That really helps my bowling. Yes, big grounds do help bowlers. 100% we also need big grounds as bowlers.”

India complete dominant 3-0 series victory

India wrapped up the series with another convincing victory in the final T20I, securing a 3-0 clean sweep under newly appointed captain Shreyas Iyer.

Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the spotlight with a brilliant 81-run knock, while express fast bowler Mayank Yadav produced a match-winning spell of 3 for 29.

The series victory marked Shreyas Iyer’s first clean sweep as India’s T20I captain and came as a strong response after the team’s recent series defeats against Ireland and England.

Positive signs ahead for Team India

Bishnoi’s return to form adds another encouraging option to India’s spin attack ahead of a busy international calendar. With his run-up issues seemingly behind him and confidence restored, the leg-spinner will be aiming to build on this momentum and cement his place in India’s white-ball plans.
