MacBook Neo Price Cut: Apple Laptop Gets Rs 13,500 Discount in India
Apple’s MacBook Neo gets a massive Rs 13,500 price cut in India ahead of festive season sales.

Apple fans in India have finally got some good news after recent price hikes made several MacBooks and iPads more expensive. The company’s most affordable laptop, the MacBook Neo, has received a major price cut just before the festive shopping season, bringing it back into the spotlight.

The price drop comes through **Vijay Sales’ Back to School sale, where the MacBook Neo is now available for Rs 69,900. The laptop had recently received a price revision and was selling for Rs 79,900 in India.

Adding to the deal, customers using eligible **HDFC Bank credit cards with EMI transactions can get an additional Rs 3,500 discount. This brings the effective price down to Rs 66,400 — a total saving of Rs 13,500.

Interestingly, the discounted price is almost identical to the MacBook Neo’s original launch price in India before Apple increased it by Rs 10,000 due to rising component costs.

MacBook Neo: Who Should Buy Apple’s Cheapest Laptop?

The MacBook Neo is currently positioned as the most affordable laptop in Apple’s lineup. Compared to the MacBook Air M5, which is priced around Rs 1.39 lakh, the Neo creates a huge price gap of nearly Rs 70,000.

That difference clearly shows Apple’s strategy — the MacBook Neo is designed for students, professionals with basic computing needs, and users planning to switch from Windows laptops to the **Apple Inc. ecosystem.

Apple has promoted the device as an easy entry point into Mac ownership, describing the experience as “love at first Mac” for new users.

For daily activities like browsing the internet, attending online classes, editing documents, watching videos, managing emails, and handling basic photo editing, the MacBook Neo is expected to deliver a smooth experience.

Performance and Limitations Explained

The laptop performs well for regular tasks because everyday computing relies heavily on single-core performance, where Apple’s hardware has traditionally performed strongly.

However, users involved in demanding work such as professional video editing, software development with heavy workloads, running local AI models, or advanced creative projects may find the device limiting.

The biggest compromise comes with memory. The MacBook Neo comes with 8GB RAM, and users cannot upgrade it later. While this may appear low compared to some Windows laptops, macOS is designed to manage memory efficiently, making the configuration suitable for everyday multitasking.

Users running multiple browser tabs, music apps, messaging platforms, and productivity tools should still find the laptop capable.

Battery Life and Premium MacBook Features Remain

Battery performance remains one of the MacBook Neo’s strongest points. Apple claims users can get up to 16 hours of battery life on a single charge under typical usage conditions.

The laptop also retains some features that have helped MacBooks build their reputation worldwide. The large trackpad offers smooth gesture controls, while the dual speakers with Spatial Audio provide impressive sound quality for an entry-level machine.

However, keeping the price lower means Apple has removed several premium features. The MacBook Neo does not include Touch ID, a backlit keyboard, True Tone display technology, fast charging support, Wi-Fi 7, or advanced external display support.

The device also comes with a 1080p webcam without Center Stage technology and fewer microphones compared to higher-end MacBook models.

Is MacBook Neo Worth Buying Now?

For buyers looking for an affordable way to enter the Apple ecosystem, the current discount makes the MacBook Neo a much more attractive option.

Students, office users, and casual users who mainly need a reliable laptop for browsing, entertainment, productivity, and online learning may find it difficult to ignore this deal.

However, professionals working with heavy creative software, programming workloads, or artificial intelligence tools may be better served by investing in a more powerful MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.

With festive sales approaching and the price temporarily reduced, the MacBook Neo has become one of the most interesting Apple laptop deals available in India right now.
