Zimbabwe Unveil 15-Man Squad for India T20Is: Wessly Madhevere, Newman Nyamhuri Return as Sikandar Raza Eyes Upset

Zimbabwe have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against India, with the return of all-rounder Wessly Madhevere and left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri headlining the selections.

The three-match series, scheduled to be played entirely at the Harare Sports Club, will see the hosts take on the reigning ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions in what promises to be a stern test for both teams.

Madhevere Returns to Strengthen Middle Order

One of the biggest talking points from Zimbabwe’s squad announcement is the return of Wessly Madhevere, who missed the team’s previous white-ball assignment against Bangladesh.

The versatile all-rounder is expected to add depth to the batting lineup while providing a useful off-spin option in the middle overs, giving captain Sikandar Raza greater tactical flexibility.

Nyamhuri Back After Injury

Young left-arm fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri has also returned after recovering from an injury that kept him out of recent action.

His availability strengthens Zimbabwe’s pace attack and provides another new-ball option alongside experienced fast bowlers Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava.

Meanwhile, pacer Tanaka Chivanga, who was initially drafted in as injury cover for Nyamhuri, has retained his place after impressing the selectors with strong performances.

New Face Earns Maiden Call-Up

Zimbabwe have also rewarded domestic form by handing wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga his first-ever T20I call-up.

To make room for the changes, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, and Tashinga Musekiwa have been left out of the squad.

Raza Leads a Balanced Squad

Captain Sikandar Raza will once again lead Zimbabwe as the hosts look to challenge a youthful Indian side.

The squad combines experienced campaigners with emerging talent, while all-rounders such as Ryan Burl and Brian Bennett provide valuable balance in both batting and bowling departments.

Zimbabwe enter the series with confidence following encouraging performances in their recent home campaign, including a Test victory and a competitive ODI series against Bangladesh.

All three matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club.
