Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Review: ₹47,999 Phone with 6,500mAh Battery, Dimensity 8500 & 50MP Cameras
The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ combines a slim design, curved AMOLED display and triple 50MP cameras, but real-world usage reveals both strengths and trade-offs.

The premium smartphone space in India is getting crowded, but **** has quietly managed to stand out by doing something most brands no longer prioritise — simplicity, elegance, and clean software. The new Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, priced at ₹47,999, continues that philosophy, blending a stunning design with strong hardware on paper.

After spending two weeks with the device as a primary smartphone, one thing becomes clear: this is a phone that looks like a flagship, behaves like a flagship most of the time, but still carries a few quirks that prevent it from being truly flawless.

Design that turns heads instantly

If there is one area where the Edge 70 Pro+ refuses to compromise, it is design. The phone feels like it belongs in a much higher price bracket.

The Pantone Zinfandel variant stands out with its deep wine-red finish and subtle wood-like texture, giving it a personality rarely seen in modern smartphones. The rear camera module is large but neatly integrated, housing a triple-lens setup that balances the phone well despite its size.

At just 7.19mm thickness and 190g weight, the device feels surprisingly slim considering it packs a massive battery. It easily slips into a pocket and remains comfortable for long usage.

The curved display adds to the premium appeal, though it does introduce one familiar annoyance — accidental touches while holding the phone one-handed.

Display: immersive but not without flaws

The 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate is easily one of the highlights of the device.

Whether you are watching videos, scrolling through social media, or gaming, the panel delivers vibrant colours, deep blacks and excellent brightness even under harsh sunlight. The experience feels fluid and immersive thanks to the high refresh rate and minimal bezels.

However, the curved edges occasionally create usability issues. Simple actions like pulling down the notification shade can sometimes trigger unintended touches — a small but noticeable trade-off for aesthetics.

Performance: smooth, fast, and reliable

Under the hood, the device is powered by the ** Extreme**, paired with 12GB RAM and Android 16.

Day-to-day performance is excellent. Apps open instantly, multitasking feels effortless, and animations remain smooth even under heavy usage.

Gaming performance is equally strong. Titles like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile run smoothly without noticeable stutters. Benchmark scores — including a Geekbench multi-core score of 6,783 — reflect its strong capability.

The only concern appears during sustained heavy usage. The phone does tend to warm up during long gaming sessions, though it never leads to performance throttling in real-world use.

Battery: big numbers, mixed results

The Edge 70 Pro+ packs a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which sounds extremely promising on paper.

However, real-world endurance tells a slightly different story. With 5G enabled, the device manages around 7 hours of screen-on time, which is decent but not exceptional for such a large battery.

Charging, however, is a strong point. The included 90W TurboPower charging takes the device from 0 to 100% in around 90 minutes. It also supports 15W wireless charging and reverse charging options, making it quite flexible.

Camera: sharp, detailed, but slightly over-processed

The camera system is one of the most ambitious in this segment, featuring a triple 50MP setup:

  • 50MP Sony LYT-710 main sensor with OIS
  • 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x zoom
  • 50MP ultrawide lens
  • 50MP autofocus selfie camera

In daylight, images are sharp, detailed and highly shareable. However, colours tend to lean toward oversaturation — greens appear overly rich and reds slightly exaggerated. While this produces eye-catching photos for social media, it may not appeal to users who prefer natural colour reproduction.

Verdict: style-first smartphone with strong fundamentals

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is a phone that gets a lot right — design, display, performance and charging speed. It feels premium, looks elegant, and performs reliably in most scenarios.

However, it is not without compromises. Curved display accidental touches, average battery optimisation and slightly over-processed camera colours hold it back from true flagship perfection.

Still, at ₹47,999, it remains a strong contender for users who value aesthetics and smooth performance over raw perfection.
