Google Pixel 11 Leak: Price Hike, 256GB Storage & Battery Details
Google Pixel 11 series is expected to bring 256GB base storage, revised battery capacities and potentially higher prices, according to early leaks.

The next generation of Google’s flagship smartphones is already generating plenty of buzz, and the latest leak could give potential buyers an early reason to think twice before upgrading.

The Google Pixel 11 series is expected to make its debut at the company’s upcoming Made by Google event on August 12. While Google has yet to officially confirm the new smartphones, a fresh leak claims the Pixel 11 lineup could arrive with 256GB of base storage, higher starting prices and some changes to battery capacities.

If the information turns out to be accurate, Google may be preparing to make a significant shift in how it positions its flagship Pixel smartphones in the premium market.

Pixel 11 could start at a higher price

According to information shared by tipster Roland Quandt, the Pixel 11 family could see a price increase in the UK market. At the same time, Google is reportedly considering 256GB as the standard entry-level storage option across the lineup.

The leaked prices are reportedly:

  • Google Pixel 11 (256GB): £879
  • Google Pixel 11 Pro (256GB): £1,079
  • Google Pixel 11 Pro XL (256GB): £1,279

For comparison, previous Pixel generations offered 128GB storage on several base configurations at lower starting prices.

If this latest leak is accurate, Google could effectively remove the 128GB storage option from the Pixel 11 family and make 256GB the new starting point. That could make the higher price easier to justify for some buyers, particularly those who regularly store large numbers of photos, videos and AI-generated content on their smartphones.

However, the final pricing strategy could still vary by market, including India, where Google has been expanding the Pixel brand’s presence in the premium smartphone segment.

Smaller batteries? Here’s what the leak claims

The storage upgrade may be good news, but the battery details are slightly more surprising.

The leaked information points to the following battery capacities:

  • Pixel 11: 4,985mAh
  • Pixel 11 Pro: 4,850mAh
  • Pixel 11 Pro XL: 5,115mAh

On paper, some of these figures suggest that certain Pixel 11 models could feature slightly smaller batteries than their predecessors.

That does not necessarily mean poorer battery life, however. Real-world endurance depends on several factors, including processor efficiency, display technology, software optimisation and Google’s approach to power management.

The new generation of Pixel smartphones is expected to use a newer Tensor platform, which could help Google improve efficiency even if physical battery capacity changes only marginally.

August 12 could be the big day

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 11 series at its Made by Google event scheduled for August 12.

The smartphone lineup may not be the only attraction. The company is also expected to introduce the Pixel Watch 5, alongside new software features and further developments in Google’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.

For Pixel fans, the event could therefore provide a broader look at Google’s strategy for combining smartphones, wearables and AI-powered services.

Why could the Pixel 11 cost more?

One possible explanation behind the reported price hike is the rising cost of components and manufacturing.

The smartphone industry has been dealing with increasing costs across several areas, including advanced processors, memory, displays and other hardware components. Google could potentially offset some of the impact on consumers by doubling the base storage from 128GB to 256GB.

That would give buyers more storage straight out of the box, although customers will still have to decide whether the higher upfront cost is worth it.

The Pixel 11 story is far from complete

At this stage, it is important to remember that the Pixel 11 information remains unofficial. The reported prices, battery capacities and storage configurations have not been confirmed by Google.

The company is expected to reveal the official specifications, pricing and availability during its August 12 event. Until then, the leaked information should be treated as an early indication rather than a final product specification.

If the rumours prove accurate, Google’s Pixel 11 series could offer a curious trade-off: more storage at the entry level, potentially more expensive phones and slightly smaller batteries on some models.

The biggest question now is whether Google’s next-generation hardware and software improvements will be enough to convince customers that the higher price is justified. For Pixel fans, the answer may become clear when Google finally pulls back the curtain on its next flagship lineup.
