The future of Hardik Pandya has once again become one of the hottest topics in the Indian Premier League, with fresh reports suggesting that the star all-rounder could part ways with Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2027 season.

The speculation intensified after multiple reports claimed that several franchises were exploring the possibility of signing the India international. Among the teams linked with Pandya were Chennai Super Kings, while Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals were also reportedly monitoring the situation.

However, Mumbai Indians have now issued an official clarification, dismissing claims that the franchise is currently negotiating with any IPL team over a potential player trade.

Speaking to Sportstar, a Mumbai Indians spokesperson stated that the franchise is presently focused on its post-season assessment and that no discussions regarding player trades are taking place at this stage.

“Our post-season review is currently on, and we are looking into all aspects of the team. Contrary to reports, we are not engaged in conversations with regard to player trades; the same is only possible once the review is complete,” the spokesperson said.

The franchise further explained that multiple ideas and strategic options are being evaluated before taking any major decisions regarding the squad.

“A range of options and ideas are being evaluated, which require time; hence no decisions have been made,” the spokesperson added.

The clarification comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding Pandya’s future after a challenging period as Mumbai Indians captain. Since taking over the leadership role, the all-rounder has remained under intense scrutiny, with fans and cricket experts debating both his performances and the team’s results.

Despite the rumours dominating cricket discussions, Mumbai Indians’ latest statement suggests that any decision regarding player retention, releases or trades will only be considered after the franchise completes its internal review.

For now, the five-time IPL champions have made it clear that reports of active trade negotiations involving Hardik Pandya are inaccurate. Whether the Indian all-rounder continues with Mumbai Indians or explores a new chapter elsewhere is expected to become clearer once the franchise finalises its plans for the upcoming season.

With the IPL off-season often producing dramatic player movements, Pandya’s future is likely to remain one of the biggest storylines until the franchise officially announces its squad strategy.
